So I’ve been a bad blogger. I’ve somewhat abandoned this blog to keep up with my personal one, which by the way I don’t do very well with either. It seems like it’s been forever so here goes a quick rundown…
Granny was here for a visit back in September…man it has been a while! She stayed just shy of a week but we had a really good time with her here. The kids always enjoy the chance to get to see her and just have her around. They have such a strong sense of family and love it when there’s “new” family around. We didn’t do much of anything special, just normal daily routines. All in all, a good visit regardless of the lack of exciting happenings.
X and C are doing really well in school. They both made honor roll the first six weeks and our parent/teacher conferences were full of compliments about how great our kids are. It was really nice to find they’re doing so well. It makes us feel good as parents. X has progressed leaps and bounds with all of his therapy and doctor visits. It has definitely been well worth the time and effort. C is already trying to read and write phonetically. It’s so much fun to watch! She’s quite the math whiz so I have to admit being a little surprised that she is picking up reading and writing like a breeze too. Needless to say, we’re very proud of them…always have been and always will be.
M and I are enjoying preschool. M has really come out of her shell and made friends of her own. It’s a first for her being that she and C have always shared friends. She has the most awesome personality that we hadn’t noticed as much when she was following her big sis. I is progressing physically. She is able to stand on her own for a few seconds at a time. She gets so excited and sometimes tries to take steps and then falls. The pediatrician is pleased that she is moving around. She is doing lots of talking, baby jabber, but she’s sure got a story to tell. Her laugh is still as infectious as ever.
…and yes, all 4 kids are still spoiled rotten…but in a good way.
Germaine finally started a new work schedule. He works 8 am-4 pm now. He loves that he feels alive while at work. He is definitely back to his normal self. We’ve missed having an awake dad for the last few years and are glad to have him back.
I, Karly, am busy teaching school twice a week and find it greatly fulfilling. I love, love, love my class. The kids are all so special, each for their own reasons. I have lots of fun with them and look forward to the days that we go to wee school. I had the fortune of catering a wedding last month. It went off without a hitch and was a great success. I really enjoyed myself. I am currently helping with another wedding as well. Mom and Cherryl are getting married!!! It won’t be an official marriage on paper, but that’s not holding us back. We’re pulling out all of the stops and planning a wonderful ceremony and reception. It has somewhat consumed my thoughts and lots of my time, but carries a lot of self-gratification, so I feel fortunate to be able to help. I lost my sweet Roxie to parvo last weekend. She fought hard and we took care of her until the very end. I miss her terribly. It’s not the same with that spunky dog being gone but I am grateful for the time I had her as “mine”. I look forward to finding another pup in about another year. Time will tell though, I may not find another perfect match for some time and that will be alright too.
We are all geared up for halloween. We went to a trunk or treat held at the church we attend preschool at. This Thursday will be our ward’s trunk or treat and then we will top it all off with a huge 4 ward trunk or treat with some friends in another stake. The kids are looking forward to all of the candy! After all, that’s what it’s all about right?
So happy boo to all of you!!!
Love to all~~The WooCrew
