As Many of you know, X turned 8 on the 26th of March. This has become a big year for him thus far because 8 years old is the age of accountability, the time in his life when he can choose to be baptized and become a “full” member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He was so excited to turn 8 and make the decision for himself to meet with our bishop and interview for baptism. He participated in the stake baptisms this past Saturday. A couple of families from our ward attended along with mom and Cherryl. Granny and Aunt Heidi also came to town for the occassion. After the baptism the family went to mom and Cherryl’s and had burgers and hot dogs and celebrated with yummy cake. X received his own set of scriptures from mom and dad, and a CTR ring and baptism booklet from the Pyfer family. His favorite part of the day was getting to actually be baptized. He says that being dunked under the water was fun! A very special part of being baptized in the Mormon church is that you are baptized by a worthy preisthood holder, which for many children is their father. There’s nothing in the world like watching your worthy husband enter the waters to baptize your child. This decision for X is huge. It means that he will have the chance to live eternally with the family he was sealed to when he was only 3 yrs. old. I am thankful everyday for my family eternal family and look forward to the day we get to pass this life and be together forever.
